Ken
Lindell Hosts Showing of "Dead Meat"
Tuesday July 25th at 6PM.
University of Maine Hutchinson Center auditorium, Belfast
Dead Meat is a short film which shows the reality of health care under
Canada's socialized medical system: Canadians wait ... and wait. And sometimes
- they die while waiting for free government health care. Filmmakers Stuart
Browning and Blaine Greenberg are currently in production on a feature-length
film exploring health care in the U.S. and Canada slated for release in
late 2006. As an interim offering, they have produced this short which
premiered at the Liberty Film Festival in West Hollywood, CA on Oct 21,
2005.
State Representative Ken Lindell will host the film presentation and will
lead a discussion on health care reform afterwards. Rep. Lindell
serves on the Maine legislature’s Joint Standing Committee
on Insurance and Financial Services where he has fought for lower health
insurance premiums and more consumer choice in care. The discussion
will focus on ways of tackling the health care crisis without suffering
the problems of Canadian socialized medicine.
This presentation is sponsored by the campaign to re-elect Ken Lindell
to the Maine House of Representatives and has been authorized and endorsed
by On The Fence Films. Participants will be asked for a small $5
contribution to help fund Ken Lindell’s campaign for re-election.
Winter
Harbor Lobster Festival Parade
Saturday, August 12th
Line up at 4:30, Parade begins at 5:30
The Winter Harbor Parade is only 5 weeks away. A reliable informant inside
the Dem camp tells me that Baldacci, Damon, & Michaud will be there...and
the Dems are already scheming to take away our First Place Float award!
Are we going to let them do that? NO!
Are we going to let them take
1st place? NO!
I can't hear you. NO!
That's
more like it!
Here's what you do:
• Mark your calendar
for August 12.
• E-mail me and let me know how many will be coming with you...so
we will have plenty of room on the floats!
• Bring your enthusiasm and line up at 4:30 pm. Feel free come
earlier and mingle in your HCRC shirt!
Please email Charla or call
her at 667-0626 with your Banner and Float Ideas.
SPECIAL NOTE: The Ellsworth
Pancake Breakfast is usually on the same day. Let's wear our shirts there,
too!
