Percy Brown
Hancock County Commissioner

Percy L. Brown served as Hancock County Commissioner from 1998 to 2002, two years as chairman. Brown, who resides in Deer Isle, is vice president of Percy L Brown & Son, Inc. Plumbing and Heating.

He has been active in local affairs having served on the Deer Isle Planning Board and Appeals Board. He is a Past Commander of the Rodney Stinson American Legion Post 102 of Stonington.

He served as part time Deputy Sheriff for Hancock County for sixteen years. Brown currently is on the Board of Advisors at Washington County Community College and is Chair of Maine’s Plumber’s Examining Board.

Brown graduated from Deer Isle High School and attended Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA and Southern Maine Vocational Institute in Portland.

He served in the Vietnam War in 1967-68 as a combat medic and was awarded the Purple Heart. Brown is a member of Marine Lodge #122 of Deer Isle, Hancock Lodge #4 of Castine and Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor.
